She currently serves as Board Chair on the Executive Board of the Alexandria Small Business Development Center, is a senior member of ColorComm (Women of Color in Communications) and serves on the board of Running Brooke, a non-profit that goes the distance for at-risk children in Alexandria by funding innovative local charities and programs that help ensure young people are healthy, active and ready to succeed in school and life. She was appointed to the Executive Board of the prestigious fashion organization Fashion Group International, where she served as Development Chair (2012-2014). Past community activities include serving on the Executive Committee for Success in the City a professional women’s organization, and on the Marketing Advisory Board for the Torpedo Factory Arts Center. Maurisa is a past Executive Board Member of the DC Chapter of the American Marketing Association, where she was Vice President of Branding & Communications.
